As Managing Director and Founder of Kensington Hairdressing, Gaynor is the driving force behind this exclusive salon. Originally from London, Gaynor brings with her a wealth of experience and knowledge. This is, in part, due to time spent as not only an educational trainer but as a Technical Consultant for Wella. Gaynor’s passion is colour and she is unrelenting in her pursuit to provide each client with a personalized look and experience. Working with her team of handpicked professionals Gaynor has produced a very special brand of style and elegance.

 

 

 

 

 

Amanda Evans

Salon Director

 

With hairdressing in her blood it is no wonder that this is an industry in which Amanda has thrived. A strong background in hairdressing, including sales, education and management roles with leading companies such as Wella, L’Oreal and Redken; Amanda’s wealth of knowledge is immeasurable. Amanda is an enthusiastic Salon Director, with the team eager to absorb her 'know how'.  Her cheeky but professional personality is contagious to the team and clients alike, with Amanda's inviting nature making her the perfect leader of our team.

 

Terry Whaitiri

Creative Director

 

Terry is a heritage member of the Kensington team, having been with the salon since formation. As a well respected member of the industry and well known makeup artist he has been recognized often for his highly creative, dedicated and innovative approach. He excels equally in both commercial and creative looks. Terry feeds his inspiration through precision cutting, fashion, and photographic work. Louise Baker

Creative Director

Louise is the consummate perfectionist. Louise joined Kensington in 2009 as a Creative Director and has bought with her an extraordinary gift for turning clients desires into reality. Having traveled to the four corners of the world Louise settled in London, working in the heart of Knotting Hill as part of the global Toni & Guy brand for many years. Louise’s all consuming passion and superb technical ability is very much in demand and she is a prized part of the Kensington team.

 

 

 

 

 

Sara Reyes

Creative Director

 

Having worked in Australia and New Zealand, & most recently with Stephen Marr here in Auckland; style and beauty is what Sara lives for.  Sara has an eye for colour and prides herself on creating the right look for even the most challenging hair - whether it be the ideal blonde, vivid red or a perfect bob.  A master of styling, Sara has worked on the sets of Fashion Editorials and Television honing her skills, making her a vital member of the Kensington team.  Sara is refreshingly candid and down to earth, firmly believing in 'real hair for real people'

 

 

Katherine Book

Senior Stylist

 

Starting her career at Servilles Hair Academy, it wasn't long before Katherine made such an impression on her mentors and she was recruited to work in the Servilles Group as a Colour Technician.  In the two years Katherine worked with the group she excelled as a Colourist.  Most recently, Katherine has worked as a Senior Stylist at Stephen Marr.  Her cuts sharp and bold or soft and seamless are sophisticated yet edgy.  The most important aspect of hairdressing to Katherine is making her clients feel as amazing as possible not only when they are in the chair but when they leave the salon.

 

 

 

 

 

Liz Tieu

Stylist

 

With an ability to foresee what goes and what doesn't; this fashionista has an eye for colour and can easily create tones to brighten your look and your day.  Trained at the Servilles Academy here in Auckland, Liz's career has spanned not only New Zealand but some of the most prestigious salons in New Zealand.  Her boundless imagination is present in her work and as she constantly strives to further her knowledge and creative growth.  As a member of the ID Team, Trend Award winner, highly commended in both Young Colourist & Colour Pour homme Liz's ambition does not fade with her years of experience.

 

Sophie Touch

Our bright, young colourist is a stand out; whether it be in the salon or at national awards.  As Kensington Hairdressing's next generation Sophie has been mentored by the best and constantly strives to grow and refine her repertoire of skills.  Constantly evolving her clients colour, executing excellent service and client satisfaction are Sophie's forte.
